BURLINGTON – CHAI CDC will honor Juneteenth June 20 with a Drive-Thru Food Pantry at 100 E. Federal St. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., one of the few programs marking the annual end of slavery still going on because of coronavirus restrictions.

The organization said because of the pandemic, its annual Juneteenth at Freedom Day on the Burlington City Waterfront was cancelled.

“The Drive-Thru food pantry was created as a way to support the community during this COVID crisis as both unemployment rates and food prices soar,” the organizers said. “In accordance with the CDC’s social distancing guidelines, all participants will remain in their cars. It is open to all New Jersey residents and is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.
