ATLANTIC CITY — Health Director Dr. Wilson Washington will be the keynote speaker at the City of Atlantic City’s Memorial Day remembrance at Harold R. Brown Memorial Park at noon on Monday, May 31, city council Vice President Kaleem Shabazz told Front Runner New Jersey.com.

City Solicitor and Air Force veteran Anthony Swan will make remarks at the event. The U.S. Air Force will recognize World War II veteran and Atlantic City resident Raymond Coursey Sr., 97, at the event.

“Coursey, the father of Atlantic County Board Commission Ernest Coursey, is believed to be one of the few remaining living city residents who fought in the war,” Shabazz said.

The park, located at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Bacharach boulevards, is named after Sgt. Harold Brown, the first black resident of Atlantic City to be killed in World War II.
