Millville Mayor Michael Santiago Among Honorees During Hispanic Heritage Day Celebration

MILLVILLE — Millville Mayor Michael Santiago, the city’s first Latino mayor, will be honored with others at the inaugural Hispanic Heritage Day Parade and Celebration awards ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, officials said Friday.

The first-ever Millville Hispanic Heritage Day Parade and Celebration will follow after the ceremony in front of Millville City Hall, 12 S. High Street, at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26, officials said Friday.

Highlighting the great culture and leadership in South Jersey’s Hispanic community.

The ceremony will end about noon, followed by a parade down High Street and the celebration at Lakeside Middle School.

Santiago was first sworn in as Millville mayor in 2014. He was not only the first Hispanic mayor of Millville, he served on city commission as well, becoming the first Latino to serve in that position as well.
