AC Democratic Committee Endorses Mayor Small, Team Small Ticket

ATLANTIC CITY — The Atlantic City Democratic Committee is endorsing incumbent Mayor Marty Small Sr. to stay in the position in the upcoming Nov. 2 election, along with his at-large team of Stephanie Marshall, Bruce Weekes, and George Tibbitt for City Council, said a statement by the Small campaign.

The statement added that Small and the Democratic Committee are in support of school board candidates Jarrod Barnes, Shay Steele, and Ruth Byard. The committee is encouraging all Atlantic City democrats to vote for all of the candidates in Column B.

The Atlantic County Democratic Committee also endorsed the re-election of Gov. Phil Murphy as well as the rest of the Column B candidates that appear on the ballot.

Small is running for re-election against Republican Tom Forkin, and independents Jimmy Whitehead, current city councilman Mo Delgado, Steve Layman and Dr. Daud Panah.

Republicans running for the at-large city council seats include Maria Lacca, Rizwan Khan Malik and Matthew James Diiullio-Justino.

“Atlantic City has a voice. It is being heard across the state. We have an opportunity to change the way leaders at all levels of government look at the voters in this city,” said Constance Days-Chapman, Atlantic City Democratic Committee chair in the statement.

“Mayor Small’s accomplishment in such a short time has placed him in position to receive a full term as leader of the Great City of Atlantic City. Mayor Small has created a vision that puts the residents of Atlantic City at the forefront of all decision making processes,” she added.

Atlantic City residents can vote early Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Oct. 31. All polling locations will be open on Nov. 2.
