Delfonics, Blue Notes to Appear in Mother’s Day Concert on Friday

WILLINGBORO — Music legends Wil Hart of the Delfonics and the Blue Notes will perform at a dinner/concert at the Kennedy Center, 428 John F. Kennedy Way in Willingboro at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6.

These kings of Philadelphia soul, who produced timeless hits including “La La means I Love You,” “Ready or Not Here I come,” “I Miss You,” and “If you Don’t Know Me by Now” will bring their signature falsettos and commanding voices to Willingboro this Mother’s Day weekend.

MBA Event Promotions, a staple in the entertainment and media industry is producing this upscale and memorable event and are gearing up for a summer series of festival concerts in Willingboro.

The concert and dinner is the first of a series of summer events for the area. Celebrity Chef and private chef for Angela Simmons and Lauren Hill, Chef Black of Black’s Blues Brand will present an exquisite Soul Food cuisine. Generations of fans will not need to travel to Atlantic City or Philadelphia to enjoy the sultry sounds of these dynamic groups.

Wil Hart of The Delfonics The artistry of Wil Hart, who is a hidden treasure of Willingboro, was honored on April 3, 2022, when Wil received a Platinum Disc to commemorate his RIAA Award 11 times Multi-Platinum Certification on the late Notorious B.I.G’s (Biggie Smalls) song “Life After Death.”

Will Hart, and the Delfonics racked up hits on the R & B/Soul Billboard charts and awarded many Grammys and gold discs. They are now celebrating 57 years in the music industry. The Delfonics were honored on the Walk of Fame on Broad Street by the Philadelphia Music Alliance (1995) and received the Rhythm and Blues Foundation Pioneer Award (2007).

The Blue Notes Through the years, there have been various lead singers and many forms of the group including Harold Melvin, and their most famous member who went solo, Teddy Pendergrass who was replaced by Arthur “Suga Bear” Aiken, Sonny King, Frank Lee and Roger Banks will perform at this Mother’s Day event.

The Blue Notes were inducted into the Vocal Group of Hall of Fame in 2007.
