Atlantic City Latino Fest Builds Momentum Toward Sept. 17 Date

ATLANTIC CITY — Momentum is building for the annual Atlantic City Latino Festival on Sept. 17 at Bader Field as members of the Hispanic Association of Atlantic County revealed additional details at their meeting Monday.

The 2022 Atlantic City Latino Festival is receiving support from the Casino Reinvestment District Authority and the City of Atlantic City. Other sponsors include Corona, Stockton University, Atlantic City Electric, the NJ Department of Community Affairs, Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, the South Jersey Cultural Alliance, Kramer Beverage and DO AC.

Highlighting the great culture and leadership in South Jersey’s Hispanic community.

“The festival is full of the rhythms from throughout Latin America including international salsa sensation, Alex Matos,” HAAC said in a statement in a recent email. “Matos was the winner of Univision’s ‘Lo Nuestro’ Award as Tropical New Artist of the year in 2014.

“Matos will join a lineup of diverse Hispanic entertainment, including mariachi, salsa, cumbia and folkloric dance groups. This festive family event includes a children’s entertainment area, authentic Hispanic food, a beer garden, and a variety of vendors.

HAAC President Bert Lopez said at Monday’s meeting that along with the entertainment, there will be dozens of nonprofit and community organizations on that that will make up the festival’s resource fair. The festival is currently looking for additional food vendors.

The organizations will provide information and resources on health, social services, education, and career opportunities.

Attendees are asked to register at the festival’s website (www.aclatinofest.com). Information and registration to become a vendor or volunteer are also available on the festival website.
