**FRONT RUNNER LA PRENSA: LATINO LEADERSHIP AND CULTURE**
The Spirit of Hospitality Award is given by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority to an outstanding individual who has made a long-lasting contribution to the Atlantic City tourism and hospitality industry.
Sanchez returned to his hometown of Atlantic City in 2015 after attending Columbia University when he co-founded Authentic City Partners with Zenith Shah to create development projects in Atlantic City, like the Orange Loop, to better the lives of those in his community and build spaces that unify and inspire like Hayday coffee shop and the Leadership Studio.
Sanchez has served as board president of Atlantic City-focused non-profits including the Atlantic City Arts Foundation and the Atlantic City Community Fund. His latest endeavor, ThriveAC Fund, is a $1 million dollar commitment from the Renn-Sanchez family over five years to fuel the work of non-profit organizations to build a stable, sustainable, and vibrant Atlantic City.
The new ThriveAC Fund draws attention to investment in impactful organizations, talented nonprofit professionals, and committed neighbors who are striving to meet the needs of residents and improve AC’s quality of life.
Starting this year through 2026 ThriveAC Fund will distribute a minimum of $1 million dollars to both 501c3 nonprofit organizations and fiscally sponsored community groups in Atlantic City whose work aligns with the ThriveAC vision.
The Annual Atlantic City Host Awards is an event which recognizes and rewards our front-line and back-of-the-house workers for exemplary service to our visitors and are important to our economy and the backbone of the Atlantic City hospitality industry.
After being absent for two years, it was held on May 4 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in the Adrian Phillips Theater.
