Willingboro NAACP Inducts Officers: William Weston Continues as President

WILLINGBOROWilliam Weston, Jr. was inducted to another term as president of the Willingboro and Vicinity branch of the NAACP in a ceremony on Jan. 27.

Weston, a longtime community leader and a former vice president of the organization, had been serving as president before the induction. The ceremony was help at The Boro Epicenter in Willingboro.

The oath of office was given by Rev. Le’Roi. Gill, Pastor of Parkway Baptist Church and Rev. Cory Jones of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Burlington NJ gave some inspirational words that encouraged those listening to function in their full capacity.

Other officers inducted included: Dr. Maryam Suluki, first vice president; Adrienne Hill, treasurer; Grover McKenzie, III, secretary; Stacey-Ann Rhule, assistant secretary; and executive at-large board members Jasmine Vance, Angie Cooper-Parham, and Andre Thomas.

Committee leaders include: Dr. Amy Dean, ACT-SO; Weston, communication, press and publicity; Bilal Muslim, criminal justice; Shira Solomon, education; Paula Teachey, environmental and climate justice; Vance, Freedom Fund; Muriel Whitfield, membership and life membership; Suluki, political action.

Along with Willingboro, the branch also serves Beverly, Burlington City, Burlington Township, Delanco, Delran, Eastampton and Edgewater Park.
