7 Win Scholarships at Gloucester County NAACP Juneteenth Celebration

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — The Gloucester County NAACP awarded seven high school senior students nearly $3,000 in scholarship funds at their Saturday Juneteenth celebration at Washington Lake Park.
The winning students included:
- Sydney Roberts, Williamstown H.S., $500 and laptop
- Jordan Winters, Gloucester Institute of Technology, $500 and laptop
- Ashley Ward, Clayton H.S., $500 and laptop
- Raymond Sims, Clayton H.S., $500 and laptop
- Ashley Johnson, Delsea Regional H.S., $500 and laptop
- Jordon Barfield, Clayton H.S., $200
- Jaylah Israel, Gloucester Institute of Technology, $200
“The Gloucester County NAACP stands firm in advancing our youth in education by supplying financial support through this scholarship endeavor,” the branch told students in its scholarship package.
“This 21st century has brought about challenges that will only be overcome through post-high school education. This is why the NAACP has been in the forefront of advancing this initiative to support local minority high school seniors in their pursuit of higher education.”
