PENNS GROVE — The Puerto Rican Action Committee of Southern New Jersey made a statement this week on the passing of its CEO and renowned local Latino leader Ralph Padilla.

Padilla died on June 28 as he continued to recover from a liver transplant, related to a long-term ailment.

Hispanic Leadership and Community

PRAC of Southern New Jersey, which has been around since 1971, is one of the best-known Hispanic organizations in New Jersey, aiding families and the community with numerous resources and aid.

“For over 10 years, Ralph has been the CEO of PRAC of SNJ, leading PRAC with a vision for the future,” PRAC said on Facebook this week. “Ralph’s leadership extended PRAC’s reach to community resources throughout Southern New Jersey.

“Under Ralph’s administration, PRAC opened offices in Cumberland, Atlantic and Burlington County in conjunction with the Salem and Cape May offices. Ralph was not only the CEO of the PRAC organization and staff but also a friend, mentor, and advocate.”

PRAC leaders said Padilla always ensured that the organization, staff, and community had the best resources available.

“The PRAC organization, administration, and board members will continue to remember and hold dear Ralph’s influence. Our thoughts and prayers will be with the Padilla family. Pa’lante.”
