Cruz Gomez Named Vice President of Vineland City Council

VINELAND – Vineland City Council newcomer Cruz Gomez was named vice president of the body during its reorganization meeting on Jan. 7 as Mayor Anthony Fanucci was sworn-in for his record-setting third term as mayor.
City council veteran Paul Spinelli was elected president of council, replacing Dr. Elizabeth Arthur, who was re-elected to council and remains on the body. She has served as the first Black female president of Vineland city council.
Other council members are Scott English and Albert Vargas.
Gomez, who is married with three daughters, is a lifelong Vineland resident. He is part of a family that came to Vineland from Puerto Rico. He moved to Vineland with his family from Puerto Rico and is a graduate of Vineland High School and attended Cumberland County College and Dundalk Community College in Maryland.
Gomez worked for the Vineland Board of Education as a supervisor for nearly 30 years. In 2014, he opened his first business Kingdom Finance, where he has developed a passion to provide financial literacy to youth and young adults.
In 2015, he opened a tax firm, A Quality Tax Service, where he supplies clients with all of their tax needs. He is president of two nonprofits: Kingdom Empowering Entrepreneur Network and Kingdom Covenant Ministry.
Along with his wife, they have devoted their life to their faith and to families in need. He is also the author of two books “The Mirage” and “Dreamer Awaken.”
