ATLANTIC CTIY — Robin A. Walton, senior vice president of external affairs and chief philanthropy officer with Inspira Health, leads a list of nine South Jersey women of color who were named to Insider NJ 2025 Powerful Women of NJ by State Sen. Shavonda Sumter.

The annual list highlights many of the leading executives, influencers, powerbrokers and behind-the-scene players female figures in New Jersey.

“These remarkable women, serving in government, as corporate executives, non-profit leaders, and community champions, embody that promise,” Sumter said in a statement on Insider NJ.

“While many of these women have been recognized year after year, I continue to meet new trailblazers whose talent and unwavering commitment to improving our communities fill me with confidence that America’s promise will continue to shine brightly. This list, of course, is not exhaustive of all the talented women who call New Jersey home.”

Walton, the highest-ranking African American in the Inspira Health Network, was promoted with her additional philanthropy duties a year ago, taking over the responsibilities of the retiring Peter Kaprielyan, who served as senior vice president of the Inspira Foundation.

In December, she was elected chair of the executive committee of the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey. She became only the fourth woman and first African American to hold the position in the chamber’s history.

“Robin’s phenomenal leadership and commitment to our region continue to advance Inspira’s mission of improving access to health care and enhancing the well-being of communities across South Jersey,” said Amy Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health, said in a statement from Inpsira then.

“Her new role as Chair of the CCSNJ Executive Committee is a testament to her tremendous skill and vision, and I speak for our entire organization when I say we are so proud of her and look forward to everything she will accomplish as she leads this prestigious body.”
