NCBW SNJ To Honor 4 Mayors At Candace Women of Achievement Awards

WENONAH — Four South Jersey mayors will be honored with three other leaders at the 20th annual Candace Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Southern New Jersey Chapter on Sunday, March 30 in Berlin.

The event will be held at Lucien Manor, 81 W White Horse Pike, from 1-4 p.m.

The mayors will be honored include LaDaena Londo of Penns Grove, Jamila Odom of Chesilhurst, Jody Veler of Salem, and Samantha Whitfield of Willingboro.

Other honorees include Angela Brown, of The Perfecting Church and Loving Our Cities; Bridget Phifer, for economic empowerment; and Vivian Hanson, for community service.

The NCBW said the Candace awards are given to “trailblazers who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and empowerment in their fields and communities.”
