PRAC to Honor 7 at Annual Gala in October

PENNS GROVE – Local philanthropist Gary Galloway, an educator and two youth coaches will be honored at the PRAC of Southern New Jersey 54th annual Gala A wards at Maria’s at DiPaolo’s, at 72 North Virginia Avenue, in Penns Grove on Thursday, October 9.
The event starts at 6 p.m. and tickets are $85.
“This year, we proudly recognize outstanding individuals with the Heroes of Our Community Award a tribute to those who have gone above and beyond to uplift and empower others,” PRAC said in a statement on Facebook.
“These honorees exemplify leadership, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to serving our communities. Their stories inspire us all and remind us why community matters.”
Galloway and his wife Betty have given their time to various causes and served as ambassadors of the Inspira Health Network since 1992. Galloway and Theresa Widger are being recognized as “Heroes of Our Community.”

The Puerto Rican Action Committee of Southern New Jersey is dedicated to empowering low- and moderate-income community members through innovative strategies and programs that drive social and economic progress, promote self-sufficiency, and celebrate cultural awareness.
Founded in 1971 by Salem County agricultural workers, PRAC was created to uplift and enhance social, economic, cultural, and educational opportunities for Hispanic citizens. Over the decades, it has become a crucial “Vital Link” for the Hispanic communities across Atlantic, Cumberland, and Salem counties.
