New Jersey Votes This Week: Important Dates to Voice Your Choice

TRENTON – With the Nov. 4 election about two weeks away, voters can start officially voting on Saturday (Oct. 25) with the start of early voting.
On Wednesday (Oct. 22), sample ballots for the general election are scheduled to go out to many municipalities throughout New Jersey.
New Jersey will be voting in one of the most hotly contested and closely watched gubernatorial races in the country to replace term-limited Gov. Phil Murphy. Democrat and current U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill is running against Republican and former NJ Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli.

Last year, while Kamala Harris won New Jersey in the Presidential General Election, Donald Trump helped Republicans make significant inroads. Election watchers will be observing if that trends continue or will Democrats hold on to the highest office in the Garden State.
In the latest Quinnipiac University Poll released last week, Sherrill holds a 50% to 44% edge among likely voters, it also revealed that Ciattarelli held the “enthusiasm” edge among voters polled.
All the NJ Assembly seats are up included contested Assembly races throughout South Jersey. Locally, the Atlantic City mayoral race is drawing the most attention, with Democratic incumbent Marty Small Sr., who is facing children endangerment charges, going against Republican challenger Naeem Khan.

Small won the Democratic primary handily back in June against a prominent former union leader with 62% of the vote in the city dominated by Democrats in recent elections.
