MILLVILLE — Millville is a community full of promise, and now is the time for bold, thoughtful leadership that reflects the needs and dreams of the people who live here.
That’s why I’m proud to officially announce my candidacy for Millville City Commissioner. As someone who has called New Jersey home for over 50 years and now resides right here in Millville with my husband, Franklin, this campaign is personal.
I’m running not just to hold office. I’m running to make a difference. I’m committed to working for Millville and with Millville to build stronger neighborhoods, promote economic opportunities, and ensure a safe, vibrant, and inclusive city for all.
About Me
I am a proud wife, mother of two grown children: Alexandra and Alston. GiGi to my heart, Frankie Lu. Throughout my life, I’ve devoted myself to public service, community advocacy, and the fight for educational equity and civil rights.

My journey has included leadership roles on the Deptford Township Board of Education where I had the honor of serving as the first Black woman president, and meaningful work on behalf of families and underrepresented communities throughout South Jersey.
I hold a bachelor’s in business management, a master’s in public administration, and I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Leadership. My professional path includes many organizations that focus on the family and community.
The recognitions I have received includes the 2023 Community Service Award from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and the 2025 Women of Distinction Award for Legal & Policy Advocacy only strengthens my resolve to continue serving with purpose and passion.
Why I’m Running and Why You Should Vote for Me!
Millville has so much potential, and I believe in our ability to turn that potential into lasting progress. I’m running to bring real results, real representation, and real resources to our community. Together, we can seize new opportunities and build a brighter future.
Here’s What I’ll Champion as Your City Commissioner:
Proven Community Advocacy & Leadership
My entire career has been about showing up, speaking up, and doing the work to uplift others.
Public-Sector Expertise
I bring decades of experience in managing public resources, understanding government systems, and crafting policy that delivers for everyday people.
A Record of Civic Engagement & Inclusion
From boardrooms to grassroots movements, I’ve fought to ensure every resident has a voice and a seat at the table.
A Safer Millville for All
My Community Safety Plan focuses on smart, collaborative approaches that build trust between residents and law enforcement while prioritizing prevention and accountability.
Budgetary, Infrastructure & Environmental Revitalization
We need cleaner streets, improved roads, sustainable planning, and responsible spending. I’m ready to get to work on day one.
Economic & Community Development
I’m committed to supporting small businesses, attracting investment, and expanding access to jobs, health services, and affordable housing.
Career & Education Pathway Programs
Whether you’re a student, a parent, or a professional in transition, I’ll advocate for programs that connect people to real opportunities.
Beautification Projects
From park improvements to public art and neighborhood cleanups, I believe Millville should reflect the pride we have in our city.
I’m Ready to Lead! With You and For You!
I’ve spent my life fighting for families, building coalitions, and pushing for justice and progress at every level. Now, I’m bringing that same commitment to Millville City Hall. I believe in transparent, accountable leadership that centers people not politics.
On Election Day: November 4, 2025, I humbly ask for your vote.
Together, let’s reimagine what’s possible for Millville.
