When González arrived in the United States from the Dominican Republic in 1982, she carried with her a dream shaped by family, faith, and a fierce work ethic. Her early years in New Jersey were spent raising her three children and advocating fiercely for their education. She became known in Willingboro for her persistence, even helping secure the restoration of $1.8 million in state funding for the school district.

She founded Sel-Buc in 2000 after the passing of her mother, addressing the struggles navigating a new country she faced, such as language barriers, cultural isolation, lack of accessible services and how other Latino families were facing the same challenges.

Today, Servicios Latinos stands as a model of culturally competent service delivery in South Jersey. Gonzalez’s work has helped thousands of families navigate systems that once felt impenetrable.

She has built partnerships across government, education, health care, and law enforcement—always with the same goal of ensuring that every Latino resident of Burlington County has the tools, support, and opportunity to thrive.

In a county where the Latino population continues to grow, Gonzalez has become a bridge-builder, a cultural ambassador, and a guardian of community dignity. Her story is one of resilience, reinvention, and relentless service.
