BRIDGETON — When people talk about the energy behind Bridgeton’s business community, Minerva Alvarado’s name rises quickly to the surface.
The recently retired Alvarado served as an officer on the Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce and is currently a board member with the Bridgeton Urban Enterprise Zone. She was the highest-ranking Latino with the Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce during that her on its board.
Alvarado has become one of the region’s most consistent champions for small businesses, economic empowerment, and culturally inclusive growth. Today, she is doing part time freelance work for the community under Alvarado Business Services.

Her leadership—rooted in service, bilingual communication, and a deep love for Cumberland County—has made her a connector across Bridgeton, Vineland, and the broader South Jersey region.
A Steady Force in Bridgeton’s Business Landscape
Alvarado’s rise within the Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce reflects both her work ethic and her commitment to elevating local entrepreneurs. She first joined the Chamber through its Salute to Business Committee, later earning election as Corporate Secretary and eventually second vice president.
She had chaired the Chamber’s Education Programs Committee, co?chaired its Hispanic Business Committee, and serves on multiple event and outreach committees.
Her work with the Bridgeton UEZ complements that leadership. As a board member, she helps guide initiatives that support small businesses, encourage investment, and strengthen Bridgeton’s commercial corridors. Her bilingual skills and community relationships make her a trusted voice for business owners who often feel overlooked or underrepresented.
Alvarado has built a reputation as a community servant whose work touches multiple sectors:
• Gateway Community Action Partnership — Board Member
• The Salvation Army Vineland Corps — Advisory Board Member
• M25 Initiative — Volunteer supporting Code Blue efforts
Professional Excellence and Regional Impact
Professionally, Alvarado is known for her decade?long tenure with SERVPRO Team Fabiani, where she has served in roles ranging from marketing assistant to marketing development manager. She oversees marketing and advertising for SERVPRO franchises across Southern New Jersey, bringing the same relationship?driven approach that defines her community work.
Her leadership was further recognized in 2023 when she completed the Leadership Cumberland County Program, a regional initiative designed to cultivate emerging leaders. Sponsored by the Bridgeton Chamber, Alvarado joined a cohort of professionals committed to strengthening the county’s economic and civic future.
Championing Hispanic Business Growth
One of Alvarado’s most visible contributions is her advocacy for Hispanic entrepreneurs. As co?chair of the Chamber’s Hispanic Business Committee, she helps create pathways for Latino business owners to access resources, build networks, and gain visibility. Her bilingual communication skills and cultural fluency make her an essential bridge between institutions and the communities they serve.
Her work reflects a broader truth about Bridgeton and Vineland: the Hispanic community is central to the region’s economic vitality. Alvarado ensures that this reality is not only acknowledged but celebrated and supported.
