CompleteCare Health Network Receives Donation of Over 3,000 Books from Reach Out and Read

Books to Benefit Local Children, Mostly Black and Latinos

BRIDGETON — CompleteCare Health Network recently received more than 3,000 books as part of a donation from the nonprofit Reach Out and Read to support children in the Bridgeton area.
Through CompleteCare Health Network’s branch of Reach Out and Read, children up to 5 years old receive a free book to support healthy brain development during their pediatric visit. Parents will also receive information on how to support their child’s growth through healthy reading habits.

According to statistics from the U.S. News & World Report, the Bridgeton School District, which includes childing in the City of Bridgeton is surrounding areas, has a ethnic makeup of 76% Hispanic and 20% African American.
“I can’t thank Reach Out and Read enough,” said Salita DeMary, director of marketing for CompleteCare Health Network, “Serving and supporting all aspects of what keep our communities healthy is what we are all about here at CompleteCare Health Network.”

By giving children books to take home, Reach Out and Read helps families make healthy reading habits a part of everyday life.
