Memorial for late Atlantic City Media Leader Bill Cradle Set for May 21

EGG HARBOR CITY – A memorial for the late president of the Public Relations Council of Atlantic City William “Bill” Cradle will be held at St. John’s United Church, 307 London Ave., in Egg Harbor City at noon on Thursday, May 21.
Cradle died on Jan. 11, founded and owned the graphics arts company Atlantic Color, Ltd., based in Pleasantville. He also served as the longtime president of the PR Council, which brought together media executives from around the region on various issues and sponsored scholarships.
The memorial will also serve as a fundraiser for his final services, organizers said. A Go Fund Me page has been created for the purpose.
“Bill passed away January 11th, this year without financial resources for his final arrangements,” said Go Fund Me organizers and friends Jeffrey Landsman and Mike Derer.

“We want to honor Bill with a memorial that he deserves. Our goal is to raise $5,000 for the memorial service, and a luncheon for friends and love ones. … Thank you for your kindness, support and allowing us to give Bill a farewell he deserves.”
Cradle left behind a lasting legacy of leadership, generosity, and service to the Greater Atlantic City community. He was deeply committed to civic life and the arts, serving on the Absecon Lighthouse Board beginning in 2007 and later as vice chairman, according to his obituary.
He was a passionate supporter of history, the arts, and nonprofit work, Cradle generously gave his time to organizations including the Atlantic City Ballet, Literacy Volunteers, and the South Jersey AIDS Alliance.
His Atlantic Color, Ltd. served clients such as the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, Harrah’s Atlantic City, and Showboat. He also provided work for other up and comping graphic artist, including artists of color, through his company.
Cradle graduated from Perth Amboy Schools and went on to study journalism at Rutgers University.
