Scholarship Alumni to Sound Off at Camden County East Fundraiser Breakfast

OAKLYN – Rutgers University-Camden NAACP advisor Jay-len McLean will lead a panel discussion of scholarship alumni at a fundraiser for the Camden County East NAACP Paul C. Harris Sr. Scholarship Fund at Oaklyn Baptist Church, 29 East Bettlewood Avenue, on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The event includes a buffet breakfast with vegan options.The program will run from 10 a.m. to noon.
“Your participation helps local students pursue higher education and reach their goals,” organizers said in a recent statement. “Proceeds from this event will benefit Paul C. Harris, Sr. Scholarship Fund to help deserving students pursue higher education and achieve their academic and career goals.”
The highlight of the event will be a College Alumni Panel Discussion, moderated by McLean.
“Alumni panelists will share their college experiences, insights, challenges, and successes, offering valuable guidance and inspiration to students and families preparing for higher education,” organizers said.
“Hear alumni share their journeys, challenges, and successes — perfect guidance for students and families preparing for college. Come for the food, stay for the fellowship, and leave knowing you helped empower the next generation of leaders.”
The Camden County East statement said the events helps students pursue their educational dreams, and contributing to leadership development, and future success of our youth. Organizers suggest donating a ticket if you cannot attend.

The Camden County East NAACP, not to be confused with the Camden NAACP, covers Cherry Hill, Clementon, Gibbsboro, Glendora, Haddon Heights, Haddonfield, Lawnside, Magnolia, Somersale and Voorhees, according to the information from the NAACP.
Camden County-based attorney Mai-sha Aziz serves as president.
