BRIDGETON — The youth-oriented nonprofit Mentor on The Green officially announced recently a new collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties and the United Advocacy Group to serve young people.

The partnership brings MOTG’s high-energy, year-round golf instructional and mentorship program directly to the Alms Center in Bridgeton, creating a new hub for local youth.

In its second year, Vineland-headquartered Mentor on The Green is a rapidly growing force in youth development. While focusing on inner-city and disadvantaged youth, MOTG keeps its doors open to all children ages 11 and up.

Founded in 2024 at Eastlyn Golf Course by James Cooper and Dan Sinclair, with the vital support of course owner Rob Buono, the program infuses life skills directly into the game of golf.

The indoor experience of the program features hitting nets, greens, clubs, neon balls, and a music-filled atmosphere packed with friendly competition, allowing the mentorship to thrive year-round.

When the weather warms, mentees head out to experience real ranges and courses. Beneath the fun lies a rigorous 18-lesson curriculum focused on critical thinking, accountability, social-emotional learning, team building, confidence, achievement, and patience.

Organizers say that the new collaboration is a massive win for the region.

“Collaborating with Big Brothers Big Sisters will add extra support to an already incredible mentorship program,” said Cooper, noting that MOTG will serve as a dynamic activity hub where “Bigs” and “Littles” can engage, play golf, and join mentorship games together.

For Cooper and Donna Bennett, CEO of BBBS, the partnership is a long time coming.

“We go back 15-plus years. It was worth waiting for the right timing and opportunity,” Cooper shared.

Sinclair said he views the collaboration as just the beginning of a massive expansion.

“It don’t stop here,” Sinclair stated. “This collaboration will spread to BBBS in other states and, hopefully, other countries.”

Already entering its third year in Wildwood Public Schools, MOTG is expanding rapidly through  Atlantic and Cumberland counties, with sights set nationally on Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, and Maryland.

The United Advocacy Group plays a crucial role in this local expansion by sharing its space at the Alms Center and inviting its own participants into the MOTG program.

MOTG’s rising reputation has caught the attention of major corporations, schools, and government leaders alike. Recently, Corning Pharmaceutical Glass stepped up with a generous $1,500 donation of new indoor golf equipment, a milestone made possible by the dedicated efforts of employee Darwin Cooper and Nicole Miletta. Mentees even visited the plant to meet the staff firsthand.

MOTG’s rapidly growing network of support includes CompleteCare Health Network, City of Vineland Mayor Anthony Fanucci, New Jersey Golf, Renati Solutions, Alms Center, NJ4S Cape May Atlantic County Acenda, 21st CCLC, Foaming Shark Party, Atlantic City School District, Salem Community College, and more.

MOTG is also launching its highly anticipated Van Campaign from Oct. 1 to Dec.             1. The goal is to raise funds to wrap their second 15-passenger van, which was generously donated by the Union Baptist Temple Church.

This campaign carries deep emotional weight for the organization. Their first van campaign, completed in May 2025, honors the late Detective Monica Mosley, who was tragically lost just two weeks before she was scheduled to become an MOTG mentor. Today, her memory lives on through a beautiful mural on the first van.

The community can make history once again by supporting the second van. Businesses and individuals can help by donating or purchasing sponsorship advertisement placements directly on the vehicle.
