CHERRY HILL — Assemblyman William Spearman, D-Camden, Rev. Charles Boyer of Salvation and Social Justice, and Gloucester County NAACP President Loretta Winters will take part in a forum on African Americans and Reparations Wednesday, Oct. 14, held by the Unitarian Universalists Church in Cherry Hill.
The panel, which includes Barbara Weinstein, associate director of the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism that leads the Jewish faith on reparations in Washington D.C., will be held virtually at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14. It is organized by the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill Reparations Task Force.
The task force is led by Dr. Mahdi Zihad and Rohn Hein, which has started a discussion in the church community about reparations.
“The committee has already solicited and received support from the UUCCH Board of Trustees,” the church said in a statement. “A resolution at their September meeting was adopted that calls for UUCCH to support bills in the New Jersey Legislature that call for the creation of a commission to study the matter and to make recommendations to the Legislature for action.”
The event will be carried our over Zoom. To receive the Zoom link, register on Eventbrite HERE.
