NEWARK — The Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program is now open for all young men with demonstrated leadership and academic achievements.

This newly launched scholarship program for students in middle school, high school and college is organized by The Boys to Leaders Foundation. The organization was founded by Sara Pena, director of the Center for Hispanic Policy, Research and Development.

As an organization whose long-standing mission is to empower, motivate, and inspire boys in the earlier stages of their personal and professional lives, the Foundation put into place a program that unleashed young boys’ potential — while providing them with the tools and platforms to do so.

With the goal to uplift primarily minority male students who reside in New Jersey, the Leaders and Achieve Scholarship Program welcomes applicants with servant leadership capacity, and whose purpose is to positively impacting their surroundings.

This Scholarship Program is part of The Boys to Leaders Foundation’s overall efforts to reinforce leadership skills and a sense of direction for young boys. For this year of 2021, there are six different scholarships available whose eligibility varies so as to widen the pool of applicants.

The scholarships awarded vary from $200 to $1,500 — one includes the granting of a new laptop with a Microsoft 365 package included.

“The earlier young people start building on their skills and finding their ‘whys,’ the more transformative their input in the world can be. Young men, in this case, have a chance to be active agents of society as of now. This scholarship is the perfect way to help them either continue or embark on their journey as empowered, servant and courageous leaders,” said Sara Pena, founder and president.

Young men interested have until June 4, 2021 to review the program and submit their applications.
