EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Meet Sunil Sharma, a 32-year-old chef who has been in the culinary industry for more than a decade.

Sharma grew up in a family that loved food and cooking and his aunt was an excellent home cook who taught him many of the skills he would need later in life. Sharma’s love for cooking began when he was just a teenager, and he started experimenting in the kitchen with different ingredients and flavors.

After completing high school, Sharma decided to attend a culinary school to further his knowledge and skills. After graduation, he landed his first job as a line cook in a busy restaurant. He worked long hours, sometimes up to 14 hours a day, and often found himself getting frustrated with the fast pace and high-pressure environment.

Despite the challenges, Sharma persevered and continued to work hard, eventually moving up the ranks to become an executive chef. He came to the United States in 2013 for a better life and to experience different cultures and cuisines.

Sharma would eventually join The Nizam’s Indian Cuisine and became head chef in real quick time. He quickly gained a reputation for his hard work, dedication, and his unique and flavorful dishes.

“We would love to thank Sunil Sharma for all the hard work, often sacrificing his personal time, for going through all the challenging times and pressure of running a small business, and for everything else,” said the restaurant in the Facebook post.

“After all this, Sunil is as passionate as he was 10 years ago. He still continues to learn and grow as a chef. He still experiments with new ingredients and techniques, always seeking to improve his craft and create new and exciting dishes for our clients.”

The restaurant said Sharma’s passion and hard work has paid off and he has become a well-respected and successful chef in the community. He continued to inspire and teach others, always pushing himself to reach new heights and achieve his goals.

Sharma played a major role in the restaurant receiving the award for second best restaurant in the State of New Jersey in 2022.

The Nizam’s Authentic Indian Cuisine is located at 6725 U.S. 40 in Egg Harbor Township.
