Stories of Atlantic City Take Part In

ATLANTIC CITY — Stockton University’s Stories of Atlantic City will be participating in a Frederick Douglass Day Transcribe-a-thon on Feb 14 in recognition of the historic abolitionist leader.
“In celebration of Frederick Douglass, we will be taking part in a worldwide transcribe-a-thon where teachers, students, and community members will type and digitize documents and correspondence left by Frederick Douglass,” Stories of Atlantic City said in a statement.
The transcribe-a-thon will bring together thousands of participants at more than 100 simultaneous events around the world, and will be done on Crowd.loc.gov, a citizen science platform led by the Library of Congress.
Stories of Atlantic City will host a lunch and transcription on the Galloway and Atlantic City campuses from noon-3 p.m.
