LAWNSIDE — The Lawnside Historical Society announced its upcoming first indoor Anniversary Celebration in years on Saturday, Oct. 26 at noon at The Sapphire Grand Deptford, formerly Auletto’s.

This special event will aid the Benson History Museum, a separate nonprofit, which needs funds to safeguard the collection amassed by the Rev. James and Ellen Benson. Officials with the Lawnside Historical Society said that it is their duty to help save every precious piece of Lawnside history. Go to the Benson Museum’s GoFundMe page to donate now.

“The Society has been blessed these past 34years with grants, first and foremost, to restore the Mott House as a museum,” organizers said. “Other money supported oral histories, State and National Register of Historic Places nominations, lectures, local history exhibits, and three summer Underground Railroad camps.”

The event will include local musicians, a keynote speaker and a video presentation. Buffet brunch tickets can be purchased for $80 per adult and $60 for minors on EventBrite.

Sponsors can choose support ranging from $5,000 for Platinum, $2,500 for Gold, $1,000 for Silver and $500 for Bronze. Please call or email by Oct. 4, to discuss sponsorship opportunities.
