UNETE Foundation, Dominican Consulate Names New Free Medical Office for Minority Communities After Dr. Patricia Campos Medina

PATERSON — On March 28, In a historic partnership, UNETE Foundation and the General Consulate of the Dominican Republic in New Jersey launched a free medical office inside the Consulate to provide care for more than 368,000 Dominicans living in the state, as well as anyone from minority communities.

Officials said patients will receive services regardless of immigration status, language, or financial situation.

The office was named in honor of Campos Medina, a respected community leader and philanthropist, whose unwavering commitment to dignifying women’s health made this project possible.


“This space represents a true commitment to health equity,” Dr. Irma Hernández, president of UNETE Foundation. “We deeply thank Dr. Patricia Campos Medina for equipping us with the tools to care for, diagnose, and save the lives of many women.

“We also thank Consul José Santana for giving this project a home and supporting, at the institutional level, a cause that is saving lives.”

Santana said the medical office partnership strengthens the consular mission and brings it closer to the community.

“We are proud to offer free, high-quality health services right here in New Jersey, home to the largest Dominican population in the U.S.,” Santana said.


In collaboration with Hackensack Meridian Health and the NJCEED program, the medical office will offer:

? Pap smears and mammograms (mobile units and referral centers)
? Screenings for colon and prostate cancer
? Glucose, cholesterol, and triglyceride evaluations
? Blood pressure monitoring and nutritional counseling
? Mental health services

With this initiative, UNETE Foundation reaffirms its mission to bring health care to those who need it most, in spaces that are dignified, inclusive, and human-centered
