Kelsey’s, Pancho’s Restaurants Receive Honor from Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY — Popular minority-owned restaurants Kelsey’s Supper Club and Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant, were honored last week by City of Atlantic in connection with its Small Business Month.

The awards were given at the city council meeting on May 21 as part of the Atlantic City’s “Keep It Local” campaign.

Kelsey’s, owned by Kelsey and Kim Jackson, was given the Growth and Economic Development Award while Pancho’s, founded in 2005 by Fabiola Sanchez and currently owned by her son Joshua Cruz, was given the Ducktown CDC Community Impact Award.

Kelsey’s is renowned for its Soul Food and Comfort Food offers and has gained national and international recognition for its appearances on the Food Network.

Pancho’s was created as an authentic Mexican taqueria designed to serve the Mexican and Latino communities of Atlantic City. Cruz continued that tradition and its second-generation owner.

Other restaurants given awards included: Dock’s Oyster House (Business Excellence Award), Gilchrist Restaurant (Resiliency Award), Barbera Seafood (Resiliency Award), Irish Pub (Community Spirit Award), Tony Boloney’s/Mad Mutz (Innovation Award), Swapz AC (Emerging Pioneer Award), Vagabond Kitchen & Tap House (Community Impact Award), Miss Audrey’s Thrift Shop (Legacy Award), North Beach Mini Golf (Inlet CDC Community Impact Award), and Center City Deli (Midtown CDC Community Impact Award).
