HAAC to Honor Unite Here Local 54 Members, Others at July’s Annual Nuestro Pueblo Awards

ATLANTIC CITY – Two local labor union leaders, restaurant owners and the Borgata Hotel & Resort are among the honorees at the 2025 Nuestro Pueblo Awards, Noche En Blanco Celebration at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Thursday, July 10, officials recently announced.
The event will take place in the Big Cypress Terrace at the Hard Rock, overlooking the famed Atlantic City Boardwalk and Steel Pier. The program starts at 6 p.m.
Liliana Franco and David Rosa, of Unite Here Local 54, will receive the inaugural Cesar Chavez Labor Impact Award, which will be given recognize Latino accomplishments in the labor. The creation of the award was announced last month by HAAC President Bert Lopez.
Gladys and Dora Aguilar, of Machu Picchu Restaurant & Premier Beauty Concepts will receive the Entrepreneurship Visionary Award while Marco Rendon & Karina Cipriani, of Taqueria Rendon, will receive the Entrepreneurship Visionary Award.
“We are thrilled to recognize their significant contribution to our community through their talents, skills, leadership, and commitment to advancing Hispanic heritage,” said a statement on HAAC’s website about the awards.

*Community Spirit – Mario Fuentes, Applied Intellect, LLC
*Education Excellence – Hilda Rivera, Richard Stockton University
*Emerging Impact – Maria Cortes, Esq., Holland & Knight
*Healthcare Leader – Dr. Hidalberto Curnow, Virtua Health
*HAAC Distinguished Service – Jessica Grullon, Atlantic County One Stop Career Center
*Innovation Pioneer – Alfonso Nava, Atlantic City Electric
*Nuestro Amigo – Clyde Hughes, Front Runner NJ
*Nuestro Amigo Organizational – Borgata Hotel & Resort
*Public Service Impact – Sgt. Pablo Solorzano, Pleasantville PD
