Atlantic City Latino Festival Set for Sept. 6

ATLANTIC CITY – The Atlantic City Latino Festival, one of the largest entertainment events in New Jersey celebrating the Hispanic culture, will return to Bader Field, Saturday, Sept. 6 for its annual show, organizers said.
The Adolesentes and El Grupo D’Ahora are two of the headliners for the event that featuring music across the diverse genre of Latin music, including mariachi, salsa, norteno, merengue, bachata, cumbia, and folkloric. Resource vendors will be on hand along with food vendors serving a variety of Latin-themed dishes.
Bader Field, at 545 Albany Avenue near the entrance of Atlantic City, was the longtime home for the festival where it drew thousands of visitors. The COVID-19 pandemic shut down the event for two years. The Latino Fest was held at the Showboat Hotel off the Atlantic City Boardwalk the past two years.
“We’re returning to Bader Field with the beautiful skyline of the city in the backdrop,” Bert Lopez, the longtime president of HAAC and executive producer of the public affairs television show Latino Motion, told Front Runner New Jersey.com. “It’s going to be a great day full of entertainment and food. It will be a fun-filled family event and it’s free.”
Lopez mentioned that the city will be charging $20 per car for parking and he encourage people to bring their own lawn chairs to the grounds.
“We love hosting this event every year and it’s meant to be an event for the entire community, so everyone is invited.”
Bader Field, the country’s first municipal airfield, closed to air traffic in 2006 but has remained a popular spot for summer entertainment for nonprofit organizations and businesses.
Sponsors for the event include the City of Atlantic City, Prudential/North2Shore, Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, South Jersey Cultural Alliance, Atlantic Cape Community College, Atlantic City Electric, Newrez Home Loan Company, Inlet Community Development Corp., Mega Radio, AtlantiCare, Stockton University, and Developers Mortgage Company.

The mission of the Hispanic Association of Atlantic County is to empower and advance the inclusion of Hispanics in all sectors of Atlantic County and State of New Jersey, while preserving its cultural heritage.
HAAC was founded in 2018 by a small group of Latinos determined to advocate for the Hispanic community, foster networking opportunities, and promote the diverse Hispanic cultural heritage.
The organization invested in the importance of education by awarding scholarships to Hispanic college bound students through fundraising efforts made possible through the Nuestro Pueblo Awards. HAAC hosts the the annual Latino Youth Leadership Summit which allows young Hispanics to unleash their inner potential.
?It’s members advocate for housing, education, employment rights, civic engagement and basic needs for our community through projects and initiatives such as food drives, free back pack and school supplies distributions, COVID-19 testing, among other objectives.
