TRENTON – Veteran journalist and publisher Kenneth Miles recently added author to his list of titles with the new book, “From Ink to Impact: How to Build a Community Platform that Lasts,” building on his experience as founder of the news platform Trenton Journal.

Miles, who has been in the news industry for more than 30 years, shares his experiences in creating and growing his hyperlocal publication in hopes to encourage others to grow the industry hit by mainstream news layoffs, shrinkage and attacks on credibility.

“Local news isn’t just about headlines — it’s about connection, accountability, and empowerment,” Miles said in a statement. “With so many communities losing their newspapers, now is the time for everyday people — journalists, activists, entrepreneurs — to step up and fill those gaps. This book shows you how to do that effectively and sustainably.”

Drawing from more than 30 years of experience in journalism, publishing, and entrepreneurship, Miles shares the lessons he learned while building the Trenton Journal, a hyperlocal publication that has become a trusted voice and vital resource for an underserved city.

“Part memoir, part how-to guide, From Ink to Impact combines personal anecdotes, industry insights, and practical steps to help readers: Identify information gaps and community needs,” a statement released by the Trenton Journal said.

The book is ideal for aspiring journalists, nonprofit leaders, community activists, and anyone passionate about strengthening civic engagement in the face of an evolving media landscape.

From Ink to Impact is available now in paperback and eBook formats on Amazon (Miles Media Publishing, $25.00, e-book $9.99) and other local retailers. For more information, interviews, or speaking engagements, contact.
