NEWARKUnidosUS Action PAC and Latina Civic Action will hold a press conference on Wednesday to announce a new partnership aimed at mobilizing Latino voters for the upcoming general election.

The 1 p.m. press conference will be held 32BJ Service Employees International Union (SEIU), 494 Broad Street, in Newark. Other attending will include M. Teresa Ruiz, New Jersey Senate Majority Leader; Dr. Patricia Campos-Medina, Latina Civic Action President; Ana Traveras, member of LiUNA Eastern Region; Assemblywoman Carmen Morales; local Latino civic leaders, advocates, and elected officials; and representatives.

“Although Latinos account for 21.6% of New Jersey’s population (2020 Census) and 15.9% of its electorate, Latino—and particularly Latina—representation in state and local government remains disproportionately low,” said a statement from organizers.

“This gap results in critical decisions being made without input from the communities they affect most. UnidosUS Action PAC and Latina Civic Action are calling on Latino voters to mobilize and vote in the upcoming election to ensure equitable representation and stronger community voices at every level of government.
