Loving Our Cities to Host Annual Sit In to Stand Up MLK Day Day of Service

SEWELL – The organization Loving Our Cities will host its annual Sit In to Stand Up annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service starting with a continental breakfast and program at the Perfecting Plaza, 274 Delsea Drive, at 9 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 19.

Sit In to Stand Up is a program of Loving Our Cities, the community engagement arm of The Perfecting Church.

Loving Our Cities’ mission is to enhance the quality of life where people live, work, serve, and worship through civic engagement, community programming, education and workforce development ensuring equitable access to resources for individuals, families, and communities in South Jersey to thrive. 

The continental breakfast will start at 9 a.m. with a program from 10-11:30 a.m. Attendees will then fan out to community service projects from noon to 4 p.m.

“The day begins with a Sit In highlighting Dr. King’s last Sunday sermon, “Remaining Awake Through a Great Revolution” to inspire community conversation and action, concluding with an appeal to Stand Up, mobilizing attendees to volunteer in an effort to foster individual and community transformation through a day of service,” organizers said.
