Fighting Stars To Gather for Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame Induction

ATLANTIC CITY — Some of the biggest named in the world of boxing — from fighters Roy Jones Jr., Riddick Bowe and Pernell Whitaker to famed broadcaster Al Bernstein — will be inducted into the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame Aug. 20-22, according to founder Ray McCline.
The fifth annual Hall of Fame weekend will be hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, along with FantaSea Resorts and Claridge — a Radisson Hotel.
The weekend will include 2020 and 2021 honorees. Last year’s ceremony was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020 inductees include Roy Jones Jr., Riddick Bowe, Pernell Whitaker, Al Cole, Ernest Bing, Tony Thornton, Sr., Calvin Grove, Percy Richardson, Tommy Parks, Earl Morton, Steve Weisfeld, Ron Katz, Murad Muhammad, Marc Abrams, Al Bernstein, and Laoma Byrd.
The 2021 inductees include Felix Trinidad, Kelly Pavlik, Simon Brown, Ivan Robinson, Aaron Snowell, Joey Eye, Frank Cappuccino, Ed Keenan, and Nino Delbuno.
“From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, boxing enthusiasts can stroll through the free Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame exhibits located in the Claridge Hotel — Art Gallery,” said a statement from the Hall of Fame. “The distinctive works include The Jack Johnson Exhibit, James O’Neal Wood Sculptures, Patrick Killian Paintings, Historic Blue Horizon Exhibit, Chris Guzman — The Glove Artist, and memorabilia Icons of Boxing and much more.
“There is no better way to attend these exceptional programs and events than to spend a summer weekend in Atlantic City, the statement added.

Tickets: $20 per person Online and $25 at Door

Saturday, August 21 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Claridge Hotel — Art Gallery
Guests will enjoy live interactive exhibits, legendary and current boxing stars, autograph signings, photo ops, unique vendors, and much more!

New Jersey Give a Kid a Dream — Non-Profit and New Jersey USA Boxing in association with CareSparc Consulting and The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame Weekend, join forces on Saturday, August 21 from 1 pm to 6 pm at the Oscar McClinton Waterfront Park (201 North N. Hampshire Ave.). Together they will bring an all-inclusive Sustainable Health & Wellness and Fitness Village, “Going the Distance to a Healthier Atlantic City.” The village will offer screenings, seminars, pop-up vendors, healthy food choices, music, fitness, and a live amateur boxing show. Boxing fans can enjoy a front-row seat to watch the AC Invitational with Elite boxers both far and near featuring National Youth Champion Sierra Martinez, who is a seven-time National champion from the United States vs. Tayshka “La Rusa” Gonzalez, who is a two-time National Champion from Puerto Rico and 15 additional exciting bouts.

Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame 5th Annual Induction Awards Ceremony
Sunday, August 22 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City Sound Waves Theater.
The culmination of this memorable weekend is the Induction Ceremony. The red-carpet formal celebration will honor and enshrine many great boxers and notable contributors who made Atlantic City the worldwide boxing mecca. Guests will enjoy a pre-cocktail reception from 4 pm to 5:30 pm with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Then transaction into an award show atmosphere with live music, tribute dance performance, and an unforgettable Induction ceremony that lifelong boxing fans have on their “bucket list” to attend.
