ATLANTIC CITY — With the New Jersey primary elections just over a month away, Tim Alexander locked down some key endorsements last month in trying to win the Democratic nomination to face U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew for his Congress seat.

Those endorsements included one from prominent NJ State Sen. Shavonda Sumter and influential union, UNITE HERE Local 54.

“Tim’s vision offers necessary solutions and opportunities for growth,” Sumter said in her endorsement on April 29. “Ultimately, ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and represented in Washington, D.C.

“With his proven track record of public service and committed passion for the community, I proudly endorse Tim Alexander for Congress. He is the advocate we need to bring about transformational change and make a difference for all residents of the 2nd District.”

“Tim Alexander stands out as a beacon of integrity and leadership, qualities that are more essential than ever in these challenging times,” said Donna DeCaprio, president of Local 54.

On April 23, Cumberland County advocates Sandy and Nick Acevedo said they will support Alexander for the Democratic nomination.

“In these challenging times, characterized by a pressing need for integrity and steadfast leadership, it is paramount that we elect individuals who embody these values,” they said. “That’s why, as advocates in Cumberland County, we proudly stand behind Tim Alexander as our next representative for New Jersey.

“As advocates for our community, we recognize Tim’s dedication to uplifting voices often marginalized and overlooked. His inclusive approach to governance ensures that all constituents, regardless of background, have a seat at the table and a voice in the decisions that impact their lives.”

On April 11, Alexander won support from Berkeley Township Democratic Club and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

“Tim Alexander is a candidate that Berkeley Democrats and Democrats across the 2nd Congressional District are proud to support,” said Kia Phua, president of the Berkeley Township Democratic Club. “As a former police officer, a former detective in the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, and an attorney focused on Civil Rights practice, Tim understands the concerns of average residents and is committed to being their voice in Congress and not the voice of the special interests which is all too common in Washington today.”
