Cunningham worked for Cummings on Capitol Hill before he announced he was running for the New Jersey Congressional seat held by Rep. Jeff Van Drew.
“Will Cunningham is a fierce advocate who learned from the best — my late husband, Elijah Cummings,” Rockeymoore Cumming said in a statement announcing the Town Hall. “I am excited to join him this Thursday at 5 p.m. in a thoughtful, substantive conversation about the issues that matter most to our communities.
“I also look forward to winning the Maryland Primary on June 2nd, as Will pushes toward victory in his July 7th New Jersey primary. With victory in our respective November General Elections thereafter, we will work together to bring fresh leadership and deep policy expertise on key issues to a new Congress,” she added.

Rockeymoore Cummings owns a consulting firm in Washington, D.C. and is the former chair of the Maryland Democratic Party. Before her election as party chair, she briefly ran for Governor of Maryland.
Cunningham’s investigations on the House Oversight Committee led to the firing of the chief executive e-cigarette company JUUL for marketing to children, student loan relief from predatory for-profit colleges Betsy DeVos protects, and held pharmaceutical companies accountable.
