BRIDGETON — The present and the past will come together on Saturday, June 15, when current defensive star of the Dallas Cowboys, Markquese Bell appears at the Big Jim Edwards Automotive Show on the Bridgeton Riverfront starting at 10 a.m.

The automotive show celebrates the late Jim Edward, the former Bridgeton community and business leader who founded Edwards & Son Funeral Home. He is a former star with the Dallas Cowboys as well.

Proceeds from the auto show will go to the youth nonprofit Life Worth Living, founded by John Fuqua. Life Worth Living is geared for gang prevention and intervention with an emphasis on education and recreation. Fuqua knows the streets well as a 1996 graduate of Bridgeton High School with a bachelor’s degree from William Paterson University.

Richard Todd Edwards is son of Jim Edwards, and a community activist in his own right, said Bell, as well as a product of Bridgeton High School before joining the Cowboys. He will appear at the auto show about noon.

Bell had a breakout second season for the Cowboys, starting in a hybrid position in the Cowboys defensive backfield to emerge as the team’s second leading tackler as Dallas won the NFC Eastern Division title.

More than 75 trophies will be given out for a variety of categories. For more information, contact rtoddedwards1@gmail.com, eugenekelley@kw.com, and marvin350@gmail.com.
