Hispanic Association of Atlantic County Names 2024 Nuestro Pueblo Award Winners

ATLANTIC CITY — The Hispanic Association of Atlantic County this week announced the winners of its prominent Nuestro Pueblo Awards.
The Nuestro Pueblo Awards, given annually to those who have made an impact in the local Latino community, is celebrated around the region as one of the most prestigious recognitions for Hispanics.
The awards will be given out at the Nuestro Pueblo Awards Noche en Blanco Celebration, on Thursday, July 18, from 6-10 p.m. at the rooftop Big Cypress Terrace at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
The honorees include:
- Arts and Entertainment – Jorge Restrepo, Society Page in Español
- Community Service – Christian Solorzano, Hermandad Del Señor de los Milagros
- Education – Aurora Boyette, Absegami High School, Heather Medina, Stockton University
- Entrepreneurship – Ausdberto Flores, La Villita Food Market
- HAAC Board Member of the Year — Rafael Arango, City of Atlantic City
- Healthcare – Dr. Kirsy Japa, AtlantiCare Health Network
- Nuestro Amigo/a (Our Friend) – Donna DeCaprio, UNITE HERE Local 54
- Organizational Amigo/a (Friend) – Atlantic City Electric, Organization of Latinos at Exelon (OLE)
- Public Service – Capt. Alex Cadavid, Atlantic City Fire Department
- STEM – Evangelist “Eva” Rojas, Atlantic City Electric

The Hispanic Association of Atlantic County advocates to empower and advance the inclusion of Hispanics in all sectors of Atlantic County and the State of New Jersey while preserving its cultural heritage.
HAAC also sponsors the annual Atlantic City Latino Festival. Bert Lopez serves as president and Jessica Grullon serves as first vice president.
