EAST ORANGE — We have been informed of yet another devastating federal funding cut, jeopardizing critical educational programs and infrastructure across numerous school districts.
These reckless actions undermine the health, safety, and future of our children, leaving schools scrambling for contingency plans with little time to adapt.
The impact on students is profound. Without adequate funding, schools face challenges in maintaining safe facilities, providing essential resources, and delivering high-quality education.
This failure at the federal level abandons the next generation, forcing states to shoulder the burden alone.
It is time to shift the conversation toward bold solutions. District consolidations offer a path forward, enabling us to streamline resources, diversity districts, and preserve effective education systems.
By uniting districts, we can create a sustainable model that prioritizes excellence and innovation, independent of unreliable federal support. I am in support of legislation to make this happen.
We will continue to fight for our students and ensure that every child has access to the education they deserve. The future of our communities and world depends on it.
