OPINION
BY FRANK MINOR | Mayor, Logan Township
LOGAN TOWNSHIP — Friends, on June 10, Democrats across New Jersey will vote to select our candidate for the next governor of our state.
I read the positions of all of the candidates, watched the commercials, and listened to the debates. Based upon what I believe to be in the best interests of our country, state, town and families, I found Mayor Ras Baraka to be the best candidate.
He has a proven track record as an effective administrator and fighter for the people. Mayor Baraka has been the mayor of Newark, the largest city in New Jersey, for more than 12 years.

He worked with his team to transform Newark into a thriving city by attracting new businesses, reducing crime, and stabilizing taxes. He has also shown he is not afraid to fight the Trump administration when it comes to preserving basic human rights. Now, more than ever, we need that combination of competence and fight in our leaders.
As a fellow mayor, I have personally worked with Mayor Baraka on common issues and concerns. I firmly believe he has the vision and leadership qualities that we need at this pivotal time.
When you go to the polls on June 10, please consider casting your vote for Mayor Ras Baraka. He has my vote and my full confidence.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Mayor Frank Minor is also president of the South Jersey Political Black Caucus, made up of African American elected officials around the region.
