The Links, Inc. AC Chapter Presents Rev. William Barber in Luncheon On Oct. 4

ATLANTIC CITY — Dr. Rev. William Barber, the civil rights leader who came to national prominence for the creation of the “Moral Monday” protests in North Carolina, will be the keynote speaker at the Atlantic City Chapter of the Links Luncheon at Harrah’s Resort, 777 Harrah’s Boulevard, on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The luncheon, which starts at noon, will benefit scholarships and programming for The Links, Inc. Vendors space will open at 11 a.m., featuring small businesses and nonprofits.
Barber, who has appeared nationally on news programs at major networks, led the large-scale Moral Mondays protests in North Carolina’s capital of Raleigh starting in 2013 to protest the government’s actions to end same-day voter registration and early voting, rejecting Medicaid expansion, repealing the Racial Justice Act, and other issues.

The movement gained national attention and copycat protests around the country. He also led the “Forward Together Moral Movement,” which included Moral Monday protests. He has authored several books and received the MacArthur Fellowship “Genius” Grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
Tickets for the event is $165 per person.
