Rick’s BBQ Announces Memorial Day Weekend Gathering

MIZPAH — Rick’s Backyard BBQ and Grill, at 6931 U.S. Route 40, has announced a Memorial Day weekend event as part of its annual summer kickoff season.
Owner Rick Gray told Front Runner New Jersey that his establishment, the iconic African American-owned roadside eatery will feature music and specials during the weekend of May xx-xx. Rick’s Backyard and the former owner of Uncle Dewey’s has been acclaimed nationally and has been featured in print and broadcasting outlets around the country.
Gray said special activities and music will take place all weekend with Ms. DJ G’Style, featuring DJ BowiE highlighting the tunes from 2-8 p.m. on May 28.
Gray, a native of Mays Landing, said he opened early in April in hopes to take advantage of the good weather. His outdoor establishment has been a mainstay in Atlantic County on Route 40 between Philadelphia and Atlantic City.
Customers will still find all the barbecue favorites that made Rick’s Backyard a popular stop last year, from ribs, chicken, fish, etc. His menu, displayed at the front of the restaurant, highlights the true diversity of what’s in store for customers upon their arrival.
