Dr. Maryam Suluki Becomes President of Willingboro & Vicinity NAACP

WILLINGBORO – Dr. Maryam Suluki, a local dentist and community advocate, was installed a president of the Willingboro and Vicinity NAACP on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at its annual Friends and Family meeting at The Boro Epicenter.
Suluki, who had served the organization as vice president, was installed by Willingboro Mayor Kaya McIntosh. Along with serving as vice president, she has been a longtime chair of the branch’s political action committee.
“A beacon of unwavering commitment, she has consistently led the political action committee in various endeavors, including civic engagement and voter education,” the Willingboro NAACP in a membership spotlight on Suluki in November 2023.
“She had directed the branch’s Walking Museum initiative and has participated Juneteenth reenactments as a person recently emancipated.”
Others who were installed as Willingboro NAACP officers included Dr. Raquel Stuart, second vice president; Grover McKenzie, assistant secretary; and James Hall, treasurer.
Executive Committee At Large members include: Melissa Tyler, Andre Thomas, Edward Tyson, Brenda Collier and Nykea Young-Ali.
“We are looking for people to be a part of our standing committees,” the Willingboro NAACP said. “Our meetings are every second Tuesday of the month. Reach out for details.”
