MILLVILLE — In a room full of entrepreneurs on Friday, Dec. 3 at the Soul of the Sea Restaurant, Rich Burton held everyone’s attention as he talked with passion and conviction about his clothing business, Drippy Ricky’s.
Burton specializes in women’s, children’s and men’s fashion and accessories near Marshalls at Cumberland Mall. Opened on the weekend, Burton was in the midst of planning Fashion Show Gala at the Cornbread House at 1167 Bridgeton-Millville Pike at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11.
“The fashion show is going to be a really nice event,” Burton said last Friday and he urged attendees to purchase tickets online for $35 or at the door for $40. Admitting he was not one for public speaking, Burton said there will be prizes for best dressed along with food and entertainment.

Burton was the first entrepreneur from the Millville Winter Networking Mixer to be featured on the Front Runner New Jersey 5 Questions business profile. The networking event, sponsored by Positive Vibes and Atlantic City Networks, was a great success, thanks to entrepreneurs like Burton.

Rich Burton: I hated working for people and always felt I would be a good boss.

Rich Burton: I just have a knack for clothing and what looks nice on people.
FRNJ: What do you enjoy the most about being a business owner?
Rich Burton: The responsibilities and the ways they have changed me to be a better stronger more disciplined person.
FRNJ: How important is it for you to have positive Black role models in business?
Rich Burton: Honestly, I don’t see color because I come from a diverse background. My thing is to unite all people who share the same passion or are into the same things. To me, it’s important to break that fear in a person that prevents them from “Just Doing It”

Rich Burton: To me being a good parent is all the role modeling I really care about.
