ATLANTIC CITY — Mayor Marty Small Sr. announced on Tuesday that four youth organizations will receive the proceeds from his Inaugural Gala set for June.
The “Together We Rise” Inaugural Gala will be held June 4 at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City around a slate of events over the entire weekend.
Small said in a news conference and all of proceeds will go to the Greater Atlantic City Youth Association, Inc. (GACYA), an Atlantic City-based nonprofit organization that supports the city’s youth programs.
With a mission to promote, develop, supervise, and assist youth in Atlantic City, GACYA will use the proceeds to provide funding to several youth programs, including the Atlantic City Dolphins, Atlantic City Police Athletic League, Atlantic City Boys & Girls Club, and Empowerment Tools Coalition.
“Whereas the proceeds from most political events go toward re-election efforts, I chose the good people of Atlantic City for my Inaugural Gala,” Small said in a statement. “I am very proud that all the proceeds from this gala will have a positive impact on Atlantic City youth. These organizations provide a strong foundation for our children and give them the tools they need for a successful future.”
