Willingboro NAACP focuses on The Crisis magazine in new podcast

WILLINGBORO – On Friday, the Willingboro & Vicinity NAACP released its latest “Stay In the Fight” podcast, focusing on the official publication of the National NAACP called The Crisis.
The historic publication was founded by iconic African-American leader and NAACP co-founder W.E.B. Du Bois in 1910 and been in continuous print since. It is currently the oldest black oriented magazine in the world.
The publication focuses on civil rights, history, politics and culture and seeks to educate and challenge its readers about issues that continue to plague African-Americans and other communities of color today.
Willingboro NAACP president Samantha Whitfield and vice president William Weston talked about the contents of this month’s issue, that featured the voting rights hearing recently on Capitol Hill, justice for black women, the legacy of lynching and the suspicious deaths of activist from Ferguson, Mo. who were involved in the Mike Brown demonstrations.
