Atlantic City NAACP Sets MLK Day Walk on Jan. 17

ATLANTIC CITY — The Atlantic City Branch NAACP has announced plans for it annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day March that will take place on Monday, Jan. 17.

New Jersey’s Lt. Gov. Shelia Oliver, the first African American to hold the position, will be the keynote speaker for the event virtually. The program will also be broadcast live on WEHA Radio on 88.7 FM and 100.3 FM. It will also be aired on NAACP social media platforms and Zoom.

President Kaleem Shabazz told Front Runner New Jersey.com people will assemble at Atlantic City’s Martin Luther King Jr. School Complex, 1700 Marmona Avenue, at 8:30 a.m. with the walk starting at 9 a.m.

There will be a wreath ceremony at Pop Lloyd Stadium and the Civil Rights Garden on MLK Drive near Pacific Avenue.
