AC’s Friends in Action, Heroes of Your Hometown Honors Community Leaders

ATLANTIC CITY — The nonprofit Friends in Action and the Heroes of Your Hometown Committee named the 2022 recipients of the Heroes of Your Hometown during a ceremony last week in the Fannie Lou Hamer Room of the Stockton University Atlantic City campus.
Stockton University President Dr. Harvey Kesselman and Atlantic City councilman Kaleem Shabazz were just two of the winners named on May 19 recognizing people who are making a difference in their communities.
“Heroes Of Your Hometown is a way for the community to give back to the people, businesses, and organizations that have served them,” organizers said. “Each year, a selected number of individuals are chosen by a committee after nomination to receive various honors which includes Hometown Hero awards. To date, Friends in Action Incorporated and the committee has honored over 300 Honorees since 2015.”
In a statement, Friends in Action Inc. thanked the committee “for scouring their city to find treasures and unsung Heroes. To our wonderful Chairwoman Mrs. Jodi Burroughs, you are a BEAST. We Love and appreciate you and all you do for the Atlantic City, New Jersey community.”
