Southern Burlington County NAACP to Host Bipartisan Candidates Forum

MOORESTOWN – The public will hear from locals running for office in a rate bipartisan candidates forum put on by the Southern Burlington County NAACP at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10 at Bethel AME Church, 512 North Church Street.
The event, titled A Platform for Community Engagement and Political Dialogue, will feature candidates from Burlington County along with the cities of Moorestown and Cinnaminson.
“This forum serves as a vital opportunity for local residents to engage directly with candidates vying for political office in Burlington County, fostering a healthy democratic process,” Shelja Touri, an executive officer for the Southern Burlington County NAACP said.
Candidates participating in the forum include:
*Burlington County Commissioners Board: Felicia Hopson (D), Tyler Burrell (D) and Jonathan Duff (R)
*Moorestown Council: Chris Keating (D), Sam Foster (R), Nicole MacHenry (R), – Gary Morris (R)
*Cinnaminson Council: Emily Heyman-Meltzer (D), John Fiorilla (D).
“This forum is designed to provide a robust platform for candidates to articulate their visions and priorities, offering voters a chance to engage in meaningful dialogue on pressing issues impacting Burlington County,” Touri said.
She said attendees will have the opportunity to question candidates directly, promoting transparency and informed decision-making.
The Southern Burlington County NAACP promotes civic engagement and voter education. By organizing events like this Candidates Forum, the organization continues its commitment to enhancing community involvement and supporting democratic principles.
Touri said the forum is free of charge and open to the public, encouraging widespread participation from all community members.
